As per the North American Meat Institute, National Hot Dog Day historically falls on the third Wednesday of every July, making today, July 20th, 2022’s Hot Dog Day!
While the holiday may appear rather trivial, it’s actually been celebrated by some fairly important people in the past.
The North American Meat Institute hosted a hot dog lunch on Capitol Hill every year since the third Wednesday in July for many years.
In 2012 is an exampleOver 1000 Capitol Hill staff members gathered for a hotdog lunch. Several ex-MLB stars also made an appearance to sign autographs and greet the attendees.

However, even though the official day is Wednesday, every hot dog shop does not follow these guidelines.
SONIC are an excellent example of this. They have chosen to celebrate Hot Dog Day by choosing to do so in In late August 2019,. SONIC will be available in 2022 These areHot Dog Day is a great opportunity to take part, but not on July 20th.
As per Axios, SONIC’s 2022 Hot Dog Day deals will take place from July 23rd – 27th.
