Netflix subscribers have enjoyed a wide variety of movies in a variety of genres, including Do Revenge and Blonde, Do Revenge, Me Time. However, it hasn’t all been live-action and one of the platform’s latest offerings is an acclaimed stop-motion effort.
Wendell And Wild is the American director Henry Selick’s new movie. He was also the director of Coraline, The Nightmare Before Christmas, and Wendell And Wild. His name was attached to this film, making it one of the most anticipated films of the year.
It’s based on Henry and Clay McLeod Chapman’s unpublished book of the same name and marks Henry’s first directorial feature since 2009.
Now that it’s on Netflix after a Friday, October 28th release date, you may be wondering whether it’s fitting Halloween viewing for the entire family. With that in mind, let’s address the Wendell And Wild age rating.

Wendell and Wild’s age rating in the US is PG-13, while it is 12 in the UK.
Netflix Life reports that it may be unsuitable for audiences under the age of 12 due to violence, substance use, brief strong language, and some mature thematic material, so it’s definitely not suitable viewing for young children.
The film is about two demon brothers, Kat Elliot and her 13-year old daughter.
Young children may be scared by some of the animations with horror influences. There are also demons in the story, which may make it frightening for them.
‘I think our film will be heavily scrutinized’
Recently, the director sat down to have a conversation. Film Discussion and addressed the film’s age rating:
“I think our film will be heavily scrutinized because of the [PG-13] rating. But, honestly, Coraline is a much more intense film. It’s much more frightening, but only for moments. Wendell & Wild takes on more emotional challenges. I think these challenges are good for an audience. I also think that some of our biggest fans are going to be nine to fourteen.”
He continued: “In a way, the PG-13 rating makes them go, ‘I want to see that movie.’ They’re aspirational to see stuff that’s for older people.”
