Alcatraz’s history has been a subject of intense debate over the years.

In total, 36 men attempted to escape from the jail in 14 separate escape attempts before it closed in 1963.

These men were either captured or didn’t survive.

Morris and the Anglin brothers (who would be in their 90s today) are the only people who have ever managed to escape from the prison.
