TikTok user Julie McFadden became a viral sensation for sharing her personal experiences with hospice care. She also shared the touching, but heartbreaking words some of her patients said before they tragically died.

The Californian resident nurse went viral after sharing touching words she’s heard from her patients before they pass away. The TikTok videos of the young nurse show her daily life, and she teaches her followers how to talk about death.
Julia is not afraid to speak out about sensitive topics. Her videos have been viewed thousands of times.
The common things that patients tell before their death is a topic the nurse explores from time to time. Although her clip was shared for the first time last year (2021), it is still being viewed more than 12 months after its original posting.
The TikTok nurse discusses what patients have to say about their deaths
“They start seeing dead relatives, dead friends, old pets that have passed on, spirits, angels, that are visiting them, and only they can see them,”Julie claimed that her TikTok video.
The patients might have these visualizations in their dreams, even when they’re awake. Julie believes that this is a very common phenomenon that usually occurs a month before patients die.
And even if it’s something that sounds unusual, patients “enjoy” them. She said that “they’re usually not afraid, it’s usually very comforting to them and they usually say they’re sending a message like ‘we’re coming to get you soon’, or ‘don’t worry, we’ll help you”.
It’s important to note Julie’s experience does not translate to every patient.
Users shared their stories in the comments about similar experiences with loved ones.
“My mom is in the hospital with lung cancer. She mentioned yesterday that her dog, Jackie, had been with her in the bed all day. He died 50 years ago,”One wrote.
Another user commented: “This happened to my 104-year-old Aunt. Her dead Husband came and got her. We have it in video. She turned her head and clearly said, ‘Hey, Baby’.”
“Not me crying and endlessly scrolling thru these comments,”A third was also written.
Some patients “need permission to die”
Another user, who was in the ICU department, shared the same experiences. “something a job had taught you that you will never forget”.
ICU nurse Ryann Her job had taught her how important it was to “the quality of your life, than the quantity”.
Explaining that she has been present during the last minutes of his patient’s life, she revealed that “people don’t die until they want to die,”Many times, we wait until a family member or a friend shows up.
Ryann also revealed that the majority patients were not happy with Ryann’s treatment. “need permission to die”. They will do this peacefully when they know that their loved ones are okay.
Some people find death frightening. Ryann said that some patients feel a strange sense of calm before their death.
