Julie Mastin was arrested this week for aggravated menacing and burglary. Police said that she had allegedly broken into a 16-year old boy’s house and pointed a fake firearm at him.
Mastin, according to the police, cornered a teen girl in his garage. She was then given a toy pistol from her waistband, and told, “You are next.” Court records stated that the boy fell to his knees, afraid for his safety.

Tanja bell, mother of the teenager, says she is sympathetic to Mastin, but that her son must be protected.
Tanja Bell said to the station, “I understand her grief but I don’t want my son being shot in the face.” I want her to just leave my son alone.
Mastin, a mother who has struggled with her 15-year old daughter Caylee’s suicide in March, believes that the boy was somehow involved in the decision. She took her own lifePolice said.
The prosecutor said in court on Wednesday that the government understands how sensitive the situation is.
“The behavior here is, it’s genuinely scary for the defendant and everyone involved. We understand, we get that it’s a tragedy for this woman here,” he said.
“She has no prior record and I want to be clear on the record, I don’t want to demonize her in any way. I know a tragedy happened here, but at the same time judge, we all have a responsibility that nothing worse happens,” the prosecutor said.
According to court documents, Mastin received bail on Wednesday. He was ordered not to contact the Bell family or wear GPS tracking devices.
Court records show that she has not pleaded guilty to the misdemeanor charge of menacing. On Friday, the records of court did not show any pleas on the felony charges of burglary and burglary with aggravated intent.
The next court date is scheduled for Wednesday.
