Watch the video he uploaded to Instagram and other social media platforms, Smith apologized to Rock’s mother and other members of his family. At this point, the star said that when the televised incident happened, he wasn’t thinking about “how many people got hurt in that moment.” He then went on to address Tony and the friendship they’ve had:
I want to apologize to Chris’ family, specifically Tony Rock. We had a wonderful relationship. Tony Rock was my man and this relationship is likely irreparable.
Tony Rock and Will Smith worked together years ago on UPN/CW. All of UsRock was a cast member of the main cast on this show. Smith was the co-creator of the show, along with Jada pinkett Smith, who also served as an EP. As of this writing, Rock has yet to formally respond to the actor’s assertion about their “irreparable” relationship.
It could be partly due to the fact the younger Rock brother has been hyping his brother. Chris Rock has continued to perform at different venues in the United States over the past months, despite being unable to make it on stage.
