WILDFIRES IN Canada and Tenerife has forced thousands to flee their homes.
Canada has declared a state of emergency as over 1000 wildfires are raging across the country, destroying an estimated area the size of Greece.
Around 30,000 British Columbia Province households are ordered to leave and an additional 36,000 people have been placed on alert.
Helicopters dropped water on a wildfire in Tenerife that had been burning in the forests around the Mount Teide natural park near Mount Teide for five days.
A good winter has kept the fires from reaching any holiday homes.
But the fire, which is the Canary Islands’ biggest ever, has still destroyed over 6% of the area and forced more than 12,000 people to flee their homes.
Canada is having its worst wildfire season on record – with at least 1,000 blazes burning across the country.
There have been more than 5,700 fires across Canada this summer.
It comes after a horror blaze in Maui, in American island state Hawaii, killed at least 110 – although the number is still expected to surge.
