Six to seven weeks after theatrical debuts, studios are more comfortable streaming movies online. Now that Wednesday is the big day for new releases on Disney Plus, we typically see new movies arrive on the service the next Wednesday after they’ve been in theaters for 45 days. Wednesday, August 3rd will mark 47 days. Lightyear.

This sci-fi adventure is a thrilling action story that tells the origin story of Buzz Lightyear (the hero who invents the toy). “Lightyear” follows the legendary Space Ranger after he’s marooned on a hostile planet 4.2 million light-years from Earth alongside his commander and their crew. As Buzz tries to find a way back home through space and time, he’s joined by a group of ambitious recruits and his charming robot companion cat, Sox. The arrival of Zurg, a powerful presence with an army robot soldiers and a mysterious agenda, complicates matters and threatens the mission.

What else can you stream on Disney Plus
The streamer has had a busy July so far. However, the second half of the month is slower. Disney Plus premiered the finale of “Disney Plus” earlier in July. Ms. MarvelThe Making of, a documentary on the new natural world, featuring Michael B. Jordan. Doctor Strange 2.
The main attractions for the second half July will be High School Musical: The Musical SeriesSeason 3 and the documentary series Light & Magic.
There aren’t any Star WarsWe have new Marvel series coming in August, and there are more shows to come. She-Hulk: Attorney At Law premieres on August 17th, bringing Bruce Banner’s cousin Jennifer Walters into the fold. I Am GrootYou can also access a series of five original shorts on the service beginning August 10th. August is shaping up as a positive month.
