Jordan Peele, who has spent his entire career in comedy on and off-camera, is now a horror/thriller filmmaker. He officially entered this space with 2017’s Get out, and then returned with 2019’s Use. Now Peele’s third feature film is finally playing in theaters, and while critical reception for NopeThis flick has a split commercial and is looking good.

The numbers below Nope’s Thursday night preview screenings are in, and the latest 2022 movie release pulled in $6.4 million from 3,250 theaters, as reported by Deadline. That’s not far off from the $7.4 million UseSubmitted within the same time frame, and much more Get out’s $1.8 million preview haul. This is its opening weekend. NopeThe estimated net income of the film is $50 million. But, that number may be lower given its runtime. Get outAnd Use.

While Nope is the only movie opening in theaters this weekend, it’s certainly not lacking for competition. Releases in July The Rise of Gru: MinionsAnd Thor: Love and ThunderStill moving forward, movies like The Legend of Hank: Paws of FuryAnd Where the Crawdads Sing. Toss in Maverick is the Top GunAnd ElvisStill around, and though NopeMoviegoers will soon have numerous choices for theatrical entertainment.

We’ll let you know how much money NopeAlthough the movie did not open its doors, it was a huge success and people were eager to see Jordan Peele’s creations. Looking back at how the movie is being critically received, CinemaBlend’s own Eric Eisenberg gave NopeCall it 4.5 stars out of 5. “a big screen experience that is as clever and fun as it is arrhythmia-inducing and stunning.”It is clear that there are more positive reviews. NopeIt is more popular than the negative, as demonstrated by its 81% Rotten Tomatoes score (at time of writing). That said, there are some critics out there who don’t think Nope doesn’t quite measure up to Get outAnd Use, but you’ll have to see the movie for yourself to decide if you agree with that sentiment.

Nope is Peele’s second collaboration with Daniel Kaluuya, who previously starred in Get out, and the movie’s other cast members include Keke Palmer, Steven Yeun, Brandon Perea, Michael Wincott, Wrenn Schmidt and Keith David, among others. Made off a reported $68 million budget before P&A, NopeThe principal photography was started in June 2021. It was officially wrapped at the beginning of December.
