Antonio Armstrong, a retired NFL player and his wife Dawn Armstrong had three children together. Their three children lived with them in Houston, Texas, and included their 16-year old son Antonio Armstrong Jr.

They died in two separate incidents on the 29th of July 2016. One parent, who was found dead in his bedroom by a family member and another in an adjacent hospital later that same night. Not long after, the perpetrator was caught because he lived in the Armstrongs’ home.

Armstrong Jr.’s arrest and subsequent charges of his mother and father’s murders began shortly after the crimes. It would be a seven-year trial. The Armstrongs’ son, now 23, may spend the rest his life in prison.

Kate Armstrong and her family were found guilty in front of Kate Armstrong and the other members of his family. Kate Armstrong was sentenced to a life term in prison, with the option of parole in 40 years.

Armstrong Jr. is not entitled to the death penalty, as Mark Anthony Duke was and Carlos Hallowell because they committed their crimes while minors.

The verdict will be appealed by him and Rick DeToto. Armstrong Jr., since his 2016 arrest, has maintained his innocence.
