TikTok’s red nail theory is wildly popular because it is believed that people will ask you to go on dates if you paint your nails red.
GirlBossTown, a TikTok user, shared her story about the success she had with red nails.
She said: “I always thought red nails was like a grandma nail color. And then it hit me. In the ’90s, when we where growing up, women had red nails a lot, especially, like, our moms — and I weirdly think guys are attracted to red nails because it reminds them of their moms when they were growing up, taking care of them.”
What is the consensus on red nail theory?
Navya Passi, a TikToker, shared her experiences on the trend and said that red nails attract compliments from men and women.
She continued: “I personally think that they look hot, and I feel super powerful when I have them on.”
Melisse Martineau, a TikToker, also agreed with the others that the theory was true.
She said, “I have never been asked to go on so many dates with you or been complimented so much in the last two to three weeks because of these nails.”
