What happened to Dave Franco’s character Seth in Day Shift and does he survive the vampire-slaying comedy movie?

Jamie Foxx, Dave Franco and Snoop Dogg – an unexpected trio who are to become legends within the vampire-slaying community thanks to Netflix’s latest action-comedy movie, Day Shift.

Franco portrays Seth, a shy but sharp-witted desk worker who is more used to bureaucracy than vampires or vampire-hunting.

Bouncing off the enigmatic Foxx, Franco shines throughout the movie but with such a gruesome and violent mission on their hands – what happens to Seth in the end of Day Shift and does he survive?

What happened to Dave Franco’s Seth in Day Shift?

Seth (Dave Franco), the junior Union representative, is introduced to us when Bud (Jamie Foxx), and Big John (Snoop Dogg), try to cash in on the teeth from the previous vampire hunt.

Bud is annoyed by Seth because he has to tax his teeth due to his numerous fines, exceptions, and admin fees. He only gets a few hundred dollars from his hall. To his horror, it turns out that Seth is the junior rep who has to accompany Bud on his fieldwork with the Union – something that he is vastly underprepared for.

Seth survives his first few days with Bud. However, he vomits and urinates frequently while trying to cope with the extremely graphic violence of vampire hunting.

After meeting his heroes, The Nazarian Brothers, Seth is starting to see things change for him. Audrey, the head vampire, was also taking out the Hive. “rule the day”By becoming a Realtor and selling to other vampires.

However, Audrey then takes Seth hostage when trying to get revenge on Bud for killing her daughter, i.e., the elderly vampire from the film’s opening scenes.

This is when Seth’s day shifts from bad to worse…

Did Dave Franco’s Seth survive in Day Shift?

Audrey leaves with Bud’s daughter, wife and her army of vampires, but decides to leave the unconscious Seth with Bud – claiming that she would love for him to see it, but “I’m afraid someone’s having you for dinner”Pointing to Seth.

It turns out that Audrey has already bitten Seth and turned him into a vampire and when the two wake up in Bud’s living room, there is some serious tension as Bud tries to calm Seth down.

However, Seth’s new powers cause him to become erratic and he instantly shows his teeth towards Bud, snarling and attempting to lunge towards him multiple times – Bud does the only thing he knows how to do and chops Seth’s head off.

To both their surprise, Seth is still alive despite being decapitated – it was mentioned earlier in the film that certain vampires can survive having their heads lopped off, leading to Seth trying his best to hold his head in place.

Bud and Seth then drive back to the motel where they confront Heather, who is revealed to have been a disgruntled spy for Audrey – she agrees to help the pair take her down.

Seth steps up in the fight and joins Bud and Heather in close combat to defeat several vampires who are moving towards her hideout.

Heather and Seth take the reins. “hard” way down and fall through the caverns to find Bud battling with Audrey’s right-hand man – they eventually get the better of him and proceed to pull both arms off simultaneously; Seth has earned himself his first fangs.

At the end of the movie, Seth stands up against his Union manager and then leaves with Heather – we are left to assume that she is going to look after him for a little while, until his transformation becomes under control.

To wrap up – Technically speaking, Seth does not survive Day Shift as he is turned into a juvenile vampire himself, but he is still “alive” and kicking come the film’s conclusion.
