Netflix’s upcoming live-action adaptation of One Piece will undoubtedly be amongst the biggest new shows of 2023, but how many chapters of the original manga will season 1 adapt, and how many story arcs are there in total?
How many One Piece episodes will the first season adapt?
Season 1 of Netflix’s live-action One Piece adaptation is expected to cover around 11 volumes of Eiichiro Oda’s iconic manga series.
The first season broadcast in the streamer’s new series You can set up your own to adapt the entirety of the first story arc from the manga, the East Blue Saga, which includes around 100 chapters – including the first chapter of Volume 12.
One Piece’s first manga volume was launched in Japan on December 17, 1997. Volume 12 of the East Blue Saga, which concluded the East Blue Saga in Japan by December 1999, closed the East Blue Saga.
Ironically, this means that there are several cast members who weren’t even born when this portion of the adventure came to an end, including 20-year-old lead actor Inaki Godoy who was born in 2003.
