The Flash crosses the finish line of global box office

The following is a list of NumbersThe Flash’s theatrical run has ended in the United States. On June 16, the film opened in 4,200+ theatres. The film’s $55 million domestic debut, with an average of $13,000 for each theater, didn’t translate into stellar revenues. The film faced some stiff competition, even though it debuted at number one in the box office. The film “The Flash”, which opened with “Elemental” and a debut just under $30 million, faced some competition. Pixar’s latest film was initially deemed to be a bomb just like “The Flash,” but “Elemental,” thanks to good word-of-mouth, has gained momentum. The animated film has earned over $460 millions to date. It is a solid success for Pixar.

The “Flash” film, however, failed to gain traction, causing the Michael Keaton-Ezra Miller movie to crash in its second week. After a $15 million second weekend, pundits knew that “The Flash’s” momentum was not enough to maintain a profitable film. Miller’s debut solo as Barry Allen took the eighth spot at the box-office by the third weekend. Miller faced unlikely competition, such as Jennifer Lawrence’s No Hard Feelings or the animated Ruby Gillman, Teenage Kraken.

The Flash managed to hold less than 800 cinemas during its fifth weekend. By August 17, just over 60 days after its release, the film was playing in just 16 theaters in the United States and Canada, making a per-theatre average of $12 — the average cost of one ticket. As of August 29, the film has all but evaporated from cinemas, already available to stream on the Warner Bros.-backed streaming service Max.
