Watch Weeknd’s Reference to ‘Stranger Things’ in the ‘Die for You’ Video

The Weeknd has released a new music video to his song “The Weeknd”. “Die for You,” off the singer’s 2016 album Starboy. Christian Breslauer directed the clip. Stranger Things E.T.

The video shows a young boy who looks like the Weeknd and who ends up being a telekinetic being who is on the run from the government officials. The video features the official referring to the boy as “Project: Starboy.”

The Weeknd released the “Die for You”Video as part of the fifth Anniversary of Starboy. As part of the celebration, Seventh Heaven, a Los Angeles-based brand, also revealed a capsule collection. The capsule collection includes five pieces, including jackets, jackets, tee shirts and a shoulder handbag. The collection drops 3 p.m. ET on Thanksgiving Day via the Weeknd’s Online store.

Earlier this week, the Weeknd’s After HoursSingle “Blinding Lights” was named the new Number One song on Billboard’s Greatest Songs of All Time Hot 100 Chart after spending 90 weeks on the Hot 100 chart. It reached number one for four weeks after spending 43 weeks in Top Five, 43 weeks among the top 10, and an additional 86 weeks within the top 40.

“By the time “Blinding Lights” happened, I was 10 years into my career and established as a music figure in the industry already,” the Weeknd toldBillboardof the smash record. “So I’m glad ‘Blinding Lights’ happened when it happened as opposed to it being the first single I’ve ever dropped. That’d be scary for me.”
