Watch The Riddler Crash a Funeral – Literally

Gotham is not a place where any event is sacred, even a funeral. This clip is a new one of “The Batman” released by Warner Bros. on Sunday, The Riddler crashes the sad event — literally.

Bruce Wayne (Robert Pattinson), attends the funeral of what appears to be an official from Gotham City. Jim Gordon (Jeffrey Wright), who is at the funeral, is discussing Gotham D.A. Gil Colson (Peter Sarsgaard), is missing. Bruce is seen looking up at an unsettling figure on the 2nd floor of the church, which appears to be the Riddler. Chaos ensues after an SUV crashes into the funeral. Bruce grabs one of the children and dives away as the SUV crashes into a column next to the altar.

Gordon and his men take out their guns and order the driver out of the vehicle. Surprised, Colson is found with his mouth taped and wearing what appears to have been a suicide vest containing explosives. The camera pushes in to Colson’s vest which has a letter taped to the vest which says “To The Batman.”

Two insiders who have knowledge confirm that the official runtime for Robert Pattinson’s reboot is 176 mins with credits. That’s 2 hours and 56 minutes spent with Pattinson’s Caped Crusader (and 2 hours and 47 minutes without credits).

Matt Reeves directed the film and co-wrote. “The Batman,” which he has teased as leaning into the “world’s greatest detective”The title character. The film also eschews Batman’s origin story in favor of picking up a few years after he first donned the cape and cowl, making the running time even more impressive.

Reeves has referred to his take on the Caped Crusader as a slow-burn thriller, with a story that finds Paul Dano’s The Riddler murdering members of high society in Gotham and leaving Batman and Jim Gordon trying to piece together the clues of what ties them all together.

The film comes on the heels of Warner Bros.’ aborted attempt at building out a new Batman franchise with Ben Affleck, as the actor was originally supposed to star in and direct his own spinoff after “Justice League”Before finally bowing out. He’ll make an appearance in the upcoming “The Flash” movie, but Reeves’ film is not set in the interconnected DC Universe, so “The Batman”It is a new beginning.

The film features Zoe Kravitz playing Catwoman, Colin Farrell portraying Penguin, John Turturro portraying Carmine Falcone, and Peter Sarsgaard portraying Gil Colson. Farrell will return to his HBO Max spinoff series as Catwoman, while Wright will appear in an HBO Max series that focuses on Gotham P.D.
