October has arrived once more and Halloween celebrations already are underway. However, no October is complete without a trip – or ten – to Spirit Halloween.
This American seasonal retailer is a favorite destination for horror lovers and those looking for costumes and props to create a spooky atmosphere.
This year, however, is special because you can go to a nearby shop and return home to watch a horror film made in partnership by Spirit. That’s right, it happened.
The movie received a brief theatrical release in late September but here’s where to watch Spirit Halloween: The Movie at home…

On Amazon VideoIt is available for rent at $4.99 (HD), while customers can purchase it at $9.99, and they can watch it as many as they like.
It’s yet to become available in the UK but became available on-demand in the US on Tuesday, October 11th 2022.
Spirit Halloween is a supernatural story about Alec Windsor, a man who tried to bulldoze an orphanage in order to buy the land. He was cursed by a witch and perished… but his spirit lives on and returns to haunt unsuspecting victims in a Spirit Halloween store.
‘I believe the PG-13 rating is an unfortunate mistake’
Recently, Director David Poag spoke to Nightmarish Conjurings about what compelled him to take to the director’s chair for the project:
“I had never considered making a PG Halloween movie before, but the more I thought about it the more it appealed to me. Stranger Things has certainly increased the appetite for this style of throwback horror in the general public, but while Stranger Things is about kids – it is aimed at adults and our nostalgia.”
He continued: “What I liked about this project and wanted to fully embrace, was the fact that this was a movie about and directly for a much younger audience. It’s here I should point out that I believe the PG-13 rating is an unfortunate mistake or a google misprint that has proliferated, and the producers are looking into it.”
David explains how the movie was made. “was by design a PG film, aimed at kids 7-12.”
