RUMOURS, teases and leaks have surrounded the release of Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 3 and now it is finally here. Servers are back online, and everyone can see what has changed for themselves.

If you’re not ready to dive right in, we’ve listed the biggest changes in the new season to check out first. Here’s everything you need to know about Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 3: Wrecked.

Exploring the Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 3 Battle Pass

The new Battle Pass is the Wrecked Battle Pass which focuses on the Wasteland Warriors linking to both collaborations with Mad Max: Furiosa and Fallout. There are new outfits for the Wasteland Warriors and other wastelanders like Rust. It includes a number of themed skins like the T-60 Power Armor from Fallout’s Brotherhood of Steel as well as Ringmaster Scarr and Peabody. This season also brings a Wastelander Magneto Outfit, which can be unlocked during July’s Battle Pass Quests.

Delving into the new Biome of Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 3

The Wasteland is a new biome to the south of Fortnite’s island in Chapter 5 Season 3. After a big sandstorm rolled through the world, this area has transformed into a Mad Max-inspired sandscape. It has locations like Redline Rig, a Nitro refinery run by The Machinist, the Nitrodome, where Ringmaster Scarr hangs out, and Brutal Beachhead, the Wasteland Warriors’ home base. In each of these areas, you’ll be able to face a Wasteland Warrior and beating them will reward you with a number of items like mythic weapons and vehicles.

Unveiling the New Weapons and Items in Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 3

Wrecked introduces a number of new weapons and items that fit in with the theme, as well as unvaulting popular ones. Nitro Fists will let you punch through enemies and dash through the air, and the Boom Bolt is a modable crossbow that shoots explosive bolts. Nuka-Cola restores health immediately and shields over time, while hitting Slurp Cacti will throw healing cactus fruit around. Previous vaulted vehicle mods have been unvaulted for this vehicle-focused season, but more on that later.

Understanding Nitro in Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 3

Nitro comes in two forms – Nitro Splash and Nitro Barrels – and both will give you a boost. Nitro Splash is a type of portable Nitro container, which you can use to boost your car and grant it some serious buffs. On the other hand, Nitro Barrels are made to drive straight through, which not only provide your vehicle with buffs but they will fly off and explode when they land. Vehicles buffed with Nitro move faster, have more ramming power, and decrease fuel consumption. You can also splash yourself with Nitro to increase movement speed, increase bashing power when sprinting, consume less stamina, reload weapons faster, and have immunity when you fall.

Exploring the New and Unvaulted Vehicle Mods in Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 3

Vehicle mods are returning so you’ll be able to customize your vehicle much like those in Mad Max: Furiosa. Roof mods — Machine Gun Turret, Grenade Launcher Turret. Front bumper mods — Spiked Bumper, Cow Catcher. Tire mods — Bulletproof Tires, Chonkers Off-Road Tires. Vehicle Mod Boxes will be scattered throughout the world and will attach to your vehicle when you drive through them.

Unveiling the War Bus in Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 3

The War Bus is new to Fortnite v30.00 and two of them will be patrolling the map. Unlike the Battle Bus, War Buses are key objectives that will roam the Wasteland for you to find. Players can hijack them to use the player-controlled cannons, and the horn which sends out an EMP Pulse damaging nearby shields and disabling other vehicles.
