Teen Mom Drama: Mackenzie Edwards Pleads to Reactivate Divorce Filing Amid Inactivity

Mackenzie Edwards’ Plea for Divorce Reactivation

Ryan Edwards and his estranged wife Mackenzie’s divorce proceedings have hit a roadblock, with the case reportedly dismissed due to inactivity. Mackenzie, however, is now urging the judge to reconsider and reopen the case after more than 200 days of no progress.

The Stalemate in Divorce Proceedings

Court documents reveal that there has been no movement from either party in the divorce process for over 200 days. Mackenzie is adamant that there is no chance of reconciliation and is determined to move on from the marriage and the recent drama involving Ryan.

Ryan’s Current Situation

According to reports, Mackenzie sent a copy of her request to reactivate the divorce to Ryan’s parents’ home, as Ryan now resides with his new girlfriend, Amanda Conner, whom he met during his time in rehab. The lack of progress in the divorce is attributed to Ryan’s incarceration at the time of the initial filing in February 2023.

The Failed Attempts at Resolving the Divorce

Despite efforts to settle the divorce after Ryan’s release, Mackenzie and Ryan faced resistance during the hearing. They were then mandated to undergo mediation, which ultimately proved unsuccessful. The former couple is scheduled for a court appearance on March 18, with the possibility of Mackenzie’s request being granted automatically if Ryan fails to appear.

Legal Battles and Support Systems

The divorce proceedings have been characterized by conflict, leading to Mackenzie obtaining a restraining order against Ryan due to alleged harassment and threats. Meanwhile, Ryan’s ex-partner and mother of his oldest child, Maci Bookout, has been a pillar of support amid his legal challenges while also fostering a better relationship between Ryan and their teenage son Bentley.

This tumultuous chapter in Ryan’s life, marked by struggles with substance abuse, has impacted his involvement in Bentley’s life. Despite this, Ryan’s parents have maintained an active presence in their grandson’s upbringing. Mackenzie distanced herself from the MTV reality series long before filing for divorce due to concerns about Ryan’s portrayal.

As the legal proceedings unfold, the drama continues to unfold, with Mackenzie pushing for closure and Ryan navigating the complexities of representing himself in the divorce case.
