Google TV Adds Over 30 Oscar-Nominated Films for Free Streaming Ahead of 2024 Academy Awards
Google TV has added over 30 Oscar-nominated films to its platform ahead of the 2024 Academy Awards. Launched in 2010, Google TV is a user interface running on top of Android TV that allows users to stream content.
Free Streaming of Oscar-Nominated Films on Google TV
To celebrate the Oscars, Google TV has added several new titles for streaming. These films, which have all been nominated for Oscars in the past, are completely free to stream. However, watchers will need to sit through the occasional advertisements in return. The list covers titles from the 1960s to the early 2000s, including blockbuster hits like The Big Short and Forrest Gump. Some other popular movies now available for streaming include Babel, and Dances with Wolves. Monster’s Ball and the cult classic Pan’s Labyrinth are also now available to watch.

The films started rolling out on Monday, March 5, Google confirmed to 9to5Google. If you’re more interested in watching this year’s Oscar nominations, you can pay watch to a few on the platform. Some of the popular titles include Oppenheimer, Killers of the Flower Moon, Barbie, Anatomy of a Fall, and The Holdovers.

OSCARS 2024
The 96th edition of the Oscars will take place on Sunday, March 10, 2024. The event will air live on ABC in more than 200 territories. The Academy Awards will be held at the Dolby Theatre at Ovation Hollywood, Los Angeles, California. Late-night star Jimmy Kimmel will play host during this year’s edition – his fourth time behind the podium.
