By the time Season 28 of The Bachelor ends, Joey Graziadei might still have trouble picking his fiance. Because as of the Feb. 5 episode, Joey seems smitten with the majority of his ladies, including Katelyn DeBacker even though she reveals in the same episode that she has a supposed “family curse” to break by marrying Joey. Hey, we’ve heard weirder on this show.
Thankfully, Katelyn won’t settle for just anyone and after receiving a date rose, it’s clear that the feeling is mutual between her and Joey. But what does Katelyn’s supposed “family curse” actually mean on The Bachelor?
Katelyn Details Her Family Curse on The Bachelor
Although Katelyn explains her family curse in a non-serious way to Joey, it still holds significance for her. She clarifies that the women in her family are not married, and her decision is not to follow their footsteps. But that doesn’t mean de wants to marry just anybody. Further, she describes how being raised by strong and independent women has shaped her. In this way, the “curse” becomes a symbol of empowerment and strength than a negative influence, at least according to Joey.

Whether Katelyn wins the final rose from Joey or not, one thing is for sure, she is a shoo-in for Bachelor in Paradise. And if the rumors are true, and she’s not the last woman standing, this might just be The Bachelor’s loss and Bachelor in Paradise’s gain. Katelyn seems to have all the qualities needed to make waves in the Bachelor franchise, with or without Joey, and we can’t wait to see what the future holds for her.
In the end, the family curse can’t hold Katelyn back from potentially becoming the sweetheart of The Bachelor Season 28. And Joey seems to see that right away.
