Trump’s Redacted Tax Returns will be released Friday

The public can finally see ex-President Donald J. Trump’s tax returns, though they will still be redacted.

The U.S. House Ways and Means Committee said on Tuesday it will release truncated portions of Trump’s returns.

The Democratic-controlled panel gained the returns last month as part of an investigation into Trump’s taxes.

The U.S. Supreme Court had ruled in the favor of the committee after an extensive court battle.

Six years worth of Trump’s tax returns will be released. First year will be 2015. This is the year Trump began his campaign for the White House.

The committee released a report on its findings last week, saying the IRS violated its own rules by failing to audit Trump for three years of his term in office.

Trump was the first candidate for president to withhold his tax returns since decades.

According to the committee, sensitive data like Social Security numbers or PIN passwords will be redacted.
