Tom Brady Said He Cheats On His Strict Diet for Thanksgiving

Tom Brady says Thanksgiving is the one day per year where he cheats on his strict diet.

The 44-year-old NFL quarterback said that he enjoys the holiday by saying “screw it” to his diet, during an episode of his podcast “Let’s Go! With Tom BradyLarry Fitzgerald, and Jim Gray.”

Oprah Winfrey was a guest on the podcast and asked Brady what type of food he would eat at Thanksgiving.

“Just like everyone else,”Brady replied. “That’s the one meal where I’m like, screw it, let’s go for it. And we all get to enjoy it.”

Brady’s routine diet excludes most holiday treats

According to his 2017 book, Brady has designated several major food groups as off-limits. These include dairy, sugar and gluten, refined carbs and caffeine, processed meats and certain fruits and vegetables, such as tomatoes, strawberries, eggplant, and tomatoes. “The TB12 Method,” which he spun off into a health and wellness brand alongside his long-time body coach Mark Guerrero.

Brady’s regular approach to food involves eating “alkalizing” foods — which have naturally low pH levels to help decrease inflammation.

Brady is eager to live a more relaxed life.

Brady Has saidHis strict lifestyle, and the TB12 Method, have enabled him to play at an elite standard well into his 40s. At 44, he is on pace to have the best statistical season of his career.

Brady says he is looking forward to more holiday indulgence once he retires. After all, even on Thanksgiving, he only has four hours to eat with his family.

“Practice usually ends about 1 or 2 p.m., you eat about 3:30, and then you’re getting ready for the next day of practice,”Brady stated this during his podcast. “And then, same thing with Christmas. So, you know, I’m looking forward to the time when I’m done playing football so that I can have some of those more normal holidays that I had growing up that were important where the family’s all together.”
