Craig Melvin of TODAY has announced Carrie Underwood’s return to her morning show.
Craig announced something “gargantuan”, to all viewers and fans, on the Wednesday episode of Today.
Craig, Al Roker Sheinelle and Jacob Soboroff, remained on the Plaza near the end.
Sheinelle told me that there was a Carrie Underwood tune playing.
Craig made it a point to say that the song they selected for the outro would be played by the chosen artist.
He asked slyly: “Why are we playing Carrie’s hit song?”
Sheinelle asked: “Why?”
He began by saying, “Well this morning, folks, I have an enormous announcement about Carrie Underwood.”
Craig concluded as the audience roared, “Carrie Underwood, Grammy Award-winning singer, has performed at our Plaza before, and she will perform live on Thursday, Sept. 14, as part of Citi Concert Series.”
Craig announced the news to a large crowd.
