Tobey maguire's original Symbiote Suit Is Truly Upsetting

Twitter user @EARTH_96283 Shared photos of an early black symbiote costume featured in “Spider-Man 3.” This costume is a far cry from the finished suit. Although the final suit is an exact replica of Tobey McGuire’s look with the exception of the color, the preliminary designs show a completely different design. The costume is jet black and does not have the patterns or details of Maguire’s traditional suit. It has a more streamlined appearance that’s closer to what the comic book version of Maguire’s suit looks like.

This suit is likely to have become a meme if approved. There’s plenty of “Spider-Man 3’s” elements that can be made fun of. The leathery stretchy fabric of the suit is what ultimately brings it down. The Gimp’s costume from “Pulp Fiction looks much more realistic. The costume is uncomfortable and would have been difficult to film.

Today, CGI can likely do this in a way similar to the way Tom Holland’s more slick Spider-Man suits were done in Marvel Cinematic Universe. Sam Raimi probably wanted the costume to be used in some real-life scenes. This costume, combined with the awkwardness of CGI at that time would likely have made this trilogy a laughingstock. Raimi’s story-telling decisions may be the reason we don’t have to worry about our eyes being stung by this horrifying look.
