Teisha Smith Hawley posted an eight-part Instagram storyConsider having her home renovated “Home Work”January 6, 2009. Bennion’s experience was similar to hers.
“Candis was always so charming,”Insider was informed by Hawley. “You could sit down with her, and she would sell you these dreams in your head. She came into our house, and she saw more than I could have ever imagined and dreamed of.”
“She was so good at telling us what things could be,”Hawley was also included. “I would get so emotionally wrapped up and think, ‘Oh my gosh, my home’s gonna be beautiful.'”
Hawley Instagram: PostedShe and Jeff, her husband, gave $45,000 to the Merediths to renovate their home in just four weeks. Candis informed the Hawleys that the Merediths had just demolished their home and laid flooring, whereas the Hawleys lived in their basement. Ten weeks later Candis said the Merediths would renovate their living space. Additional $40,000 requiredAccording to Hawley’s Instagram account, the following post was shared to confirm that the project is still possible.
In another Instagram postThe Hawleys stated that they told Merediths they would not be coming back after they requested additional money and they decided to fix their house without their assistance.
“People with ‘celebrity’ status can’t have power over others just because they feel like they can,”Insider was told by Hawley that he added that “the Magnolia name (as well as Chip and Jo’s)”They were given “a sense of safety and security”Working with the Merediths.
“There are many families and even businesses that have been harmed by these people,”She added, referring to the Merediths. “It all needs to be put to an end.”
