TikTok divided after mum reveals she only washes her baby’s reusable nappies once a week

A mother had divided opinion after revealing that she washes her baby’s reusable nappies once a week.

@the.clarks is a TikTok user who goes under the name Kelsey. She made the comment during a video where she talked about her laundry process.

She says: “It is that time of the week where I wash my cloth diapers and yes I only wash them every six to seven days.”

Kelsey then went on to discuss how she washes two cloth nappies in the washer to clean them.

She explained that the first wash was done with warm water and the second one uses hot water.

The decision to save used nappies and wash them once every week has been noticed by many, including one concerned commenter: “Good God, that must stink to high heaven.”

Kesley responded to the comment with a second video. “It stinks so bad when I dump it in the washer. Imagine piss and poop residue just sitting there for seven days.

“So yeah, it does stink, but the point is after I’m done washing and drying them, they don’t stink at all.”

Some commenters remained skeptical, while others were happy to find like-minded people on TikTok.

One person wrote: “I love stumbling onto cloth diaper moms on Tiktok!”

Another one was asked: “But why keep them marinating? … Just wash them.”

Someone else has agreed to write: “Why wait seven days to do laundry?”

Well, at least she’s doing her bit for the environment.
