Three WhatsApp tricks you HAVE to know – including ‘secret message mode’

WHATSAPP has a bunch of useful features up its sleeve – many of which you might not know about.

How to erase messages you have already sent

WhatsApp’s most notable achievement is its ability to delete messages after they’ve been sent.

And unlike other messaging apps (i.e. You can delete any text in a WhatsApp chatbox by using iMessage.

This feature is especially helpful if you send a message wrongly to the chat or if your message contains an error.

By opening WhatsApp and then going to the chat that contains the message, you can erase it.

Once you have found the message, tap and hold it until you see Delete.

Tap Delete, then Delete for All.

Messages that have been successfully deleted by everyone will be replaced with the following: “This message was deleted.”

How to send a message that disappears

WhatsApp also offers a great privacy feature: how to send a photo, video, or message that disappears.

This feature will turn off any new messages within a chat after seven days.

To do this go to the specific chat > click on the person’s name at the top of the chat > tap ‘Disappearing messages’ > tap ‘On.’

Also, you can send a video or image that disappears after the recipient has seen it once.

This is important when you are sending sensitive information like bank details.

You can do this by first going to the chat and then clicking on the “+”Next to the message input box.

Next, choose ‘Camera’ to take a photo or ‘Photo & Video Library’ to select a photo.

After you have selected the photo, click on the “1”Next to the blue send button, click the blue arrow to transmit

How to use WhatsApp from your laptop

WhatsApp isn’t just for your phone. You can use it on a tablet and a laptop/desktop.

As a WhatsApp user you have access to a browser that allows you to sync all your data from your phone to your computer.

Next, open WhatsApp on your smartphone.

Go to Settings > WhatsApp Web/Desktop > Scan the QR code on the browser or Desktop app > Follow the instructions from there.
