A raging mob set fire to three child kidnappers after the murder an 11-year old boy.
The three men who were accused of abducting and killing Freddy Méndez, 11, were dragged out of a police station in Guatemala and set on fire by locals.
Selvin Pérez, 24, Samuel Godínez, 38 and Ovidio Méndez, 24 were killed in the Xémal village, in Colotenango.
According to the Guatemala National Police, the suspects had abducted Freddy Méndez, 11 on August 12, requesting £1600 ($19,500) for his release.
To prove Freddy was alive, the kidnappers took a picture of Freddy’s family with one of them holding a shotgun beside him.
Despite the ransom being paid by the family, the boy was never released.
Three suspects were detained by police on Monday.
But an angry mob that arrived at the station managed to capture one of the suspects and drag him to the village of Xémal.
According to reports, Freddy was killed by the suspect and buried in the pit. The furious locals then burned Freddy alive.
They took the matter into their own hands and captured the two other suspects.
Local media reported that Freddy was found dead on Wednesday.
The boy is believed to have been targeted by his father, who lives in the US and sends money back home often.
