Three Generations of Brides Wore The Same Wedding Dress Since 1961

Tafelski framed the sleeves of lace instead of throwing them out.

Tafelski had pieces of the fabric from her grandmother's dress framed to give to her family members.

Tafelski donated the pieces to her mother’s siblings, and to some of her cousins.

Tafelski was McCarty’s first grandchild and said she was honored to be the one to wear McCarty’s grandmother’s dress. However, she wanted to ensure her family had a piece of this gown so she gave pieces of the lace sleeves and a few of her aunt’s siblings to her mom.

Tafelski stated that her grandmother, who passed away in 2000, would have been thrilled to see her in the dress.

“We also all got married in the same church, so it was a special continuation of that, too,”She said.

Tafelski said that wearing the dress was like having a piece luck because it is a symbol of her parents’ marriage.

“They’ve always been a role model to me of what I wanted my future marriage to look like, and I hope to have something as wonderful as they do,”She said.
