Recently, I was fascinated by the conclusion of an academic study that I found. Love horror movies. The bottom line is that horror movies have more mental resilience than average people. This, among other factors, makes them better equipped to deal with an event such as the current global pandemic. Just released last weekThis 92-minute Spanish-language feature-film is a result of the Covid pandemic. The film was made during the global crisis in health and features a cast of three. As with a lot of art right now, it is also difficult not to see metaphorical links to the Covid crises here. Similar to how many families are currently in quarantine or just plain hunkering at home, This movie features a young boy, his mother and father who have managed to escape violence in 19th-century Spain. The family is now living in an isolated home. They are now in an isolated home, but a beast is outside, lurking in the shadows, watching them.

I’m not sure if this theory is true. Over-indexing horror movies can encourage mental resilience. This sounds plausible. The more mental and emotional support you receive, the better. The more calisthenics that you do, the stronger your psyche will be. It does, at least for some people.
