The World Cup is off and running, and we have the first great meme of the tournament thanks to Mexico’s Guillermo Ochoa.
He is a larger than life character and will be playing in the fifth World Cup. On Tuesday, he made a huge save for Qatar 2022 to ensure a draw against Poland.
Poland’s Robert Lewandowski still hasn’t scored at the biggest tournament of them all after having his effort comfortably saved by Ochoa on the way to a 0-0 draw.
Ochoa, a footballer with shock curled hair and one of Qatar’s most recognisable players, is a hero.

In reality, he is a World Cup icon and his contributions have been celebrated by many.

Ochoa, who was first a player for Mexico’s national team in 2005, has been capped for Mexico 132 times.
He was part of the team for the 2022 World Cups in 2020, 2014, 2015, 2018, and 2018. He’s spent the bulk of his career playing for Mexico side America, and has also had stints at Ajaccio, Malaga and Standard Liege.
Mexico is in Group C along with Argentina, Poland, and Saudi Arabia. Their next game is against Argentina, and they will then play Saudi Arabia on Wednesday.
