The Premiere Date for the Peacock is Revealed by ‘MacGruber” Red-Band Teaser

We’ve got a friggin’ premiere date — MacGruber!

Peacock released a teaser video of the series adaptation of the 2010 movie, lasting six minutes plus on Monday. “MacGruber”(Itself, it is of course, an adaptation from the “SNL”sketch) as well as a premier date.

On Thursday, December 16, all eight episodes of Will Forte’s action-comedy series will be available on the NBCUniversal streaming service.

Can’t wait that long? Although you don’t really have to, the red-band teaser should be enough to get your attention. It might make you lose your mind.

In the preview, we check in with the former special operative 10 years into serving his lifelong prison sentence after the death of his arch enemy Dieter Von Cunth (Val Kilmer) at MacGruber’s second wedding.

Forte is the title role in the series, and Kristen Wiig (Kristen Phillippe) reprises their roles from 2010. “MacGruber”film as Vicki St.Elmo and Dixon Piper. Timothy V. Murphy will reprise his role as Constantine, a ruthless henchman for Dieter von Cunth (played in the 2010 film by Kilmer), who is back to exact revenge on MacGruber.

Additionally, Sam Elliott will play MacGruber’s father, Perry, while Laurence Fishburne stars as General Barrett Fasoose, a highly decorated soldier who commands the respect of the entire U.S. military. In addition to his illustrious career, he is married to MacGruber’s ex-wife, Vicki St. Elmo. Yikes.

Joseph Lee Anderson will portray Major Harold Kernst. He is the right-hand man to General Fasoose and is responsible for MacGruber’s life-threatening mission.

Billy Zane’s Brigadier Commander Enos Queeth is one of MacGruber’s mortal enemies. Although he was thought to have died, he has returned to take out an evil plot to destroy the world and claim revenge for MacGruber.

Here is the Peacock series’ logline: After rotting in prison for over a decade, America’s ultimate hero and uber patriot MacGruber is finally released. His mission: to take down a mysterious villain from his past — Brigadier Commander Enos Queeth. MacGruber is in danger of losing the world and must assemble his team Vicki St. Elmo, Dixon Piper, to defeat the evil forces.

Forte wrote and executive produced Peacock’s “MacGruber”John Solomon and Jorma Tampone were film collaborators. Taccone once again directed Solomon.

Executive producers of the Universal Studio Group’s Broadway Video series include Lorne Michs, John Goldwyn and Andrew Singer.
