The Partridge Family is getting a reboot in animated form.
The Partridge Families can be found in every ethnicity. It’s back, but with a new twist. The beloved musical family from the 1970s will be getting an animated look, thanks to Sony Pictures Television — Kids, according toThe Hollywood Reporter. New York’s five boroughs will be the focus of a new television series that follows a Black Brooklyn Bed-Stuy family. The family, while operating a mobile food service truck will be “serving up tunes and treats.” It was based on a similar concept in the original series. The original series followed a family on a tour across the country. After the first series, the majority of episodes were filmed in the home town.
The Partridge Family Originally aired on ABC for four seasons, the show starred Shirley Jones as well as David Cassidy and Susan Dey. Five compilation albums as well as a holiday CD were released by the Partridge Family. It’s not the first time the Partridge Family appeared in animation. A sci-fi version,Partridge Family 2200 A.D.The family lived in 2200 A.D. and were “galaxy famous” musicians. In 1974 it lasted only 16 episodes and one season on CBS. Danny Bonaduce voiced his characters and Suzanne Crough and Brain Forster portrayed their counterparts. Susan Dey and Dave Madden only appeared in two episodes.
VH1 ran a search in 2004 for new cast members of a series. OnSearching for the Partridge familyEmma Stone was cast as Laurie in the upcoming series, but it never got past the pilot phase. This new animated series looks promising. The storyline is different from the original, as well as its format. Fans will have to watch and wait until something happens.
