The mayor’s mother gave birth in the bathroom because she believed it would bring her happiness and success.

Sim Jae Duck clearly took superstition and lived his entire life inside one.

The unusual house was named Haewoojae which means a “retreat where one could resolve one’s life’s problems”.

Mr Toilet even started the World Toilet Association, which helped over 2.6 billion people – despite its odd name.

The organization aimed to improve sanitation and hygiene for people living in countries without bathrooms.

Sim Jae Duck felt so strongly about this cause, that he wrote the book Happy to be With You, Toilet.

Go Gi Wong designed the new giant toilet home that replaced the previous residence of Mayor Go for 30 years.

It boasts 4,508sqft and Sim Jae-Duck forked out an eye-watering £1.6million to construct the two-storey property.

The apartment has two bedrooms, three bathrooms and a large living area. All of these rooms are equipped with modern technology.

Toilets are also equipped with all the latest innovations, such as automatic seat closing and lifting.

The roof area can be reached via a staircase in the form of a drain.

The huge toilet became a museum after Sim Jae Duck died in 2009.

It was decided to build an entire theme-park from this building. The park is called the “world’s first toilet themed park”.

Tourists may also spend the night in this giant toilet, which costs a whopping $50,000.
