The Duggar FamilyThey are not strangers to the spotlight. However, everything they do lately is under scrutiny. What is the latest? The family’s account shared a picture of teenage son Jackson with a dead buck he bagged on the first day of hunting season.
“We’ve already enjoyed some of the meat from his harvest! Deer jerky is one of our favorites to make. Jackson is a good shot, and becoming a great cook, too!”The caption was as follows: There were many comments from fans, and some congratulated Jackson for winning the prize.
Fans Are Divided
“Way to go Jackson!”One fan commented. Another wrote: “My grandson got his first one too. It will be processed and the meat donated to a mission to feed many high quality proteins.”
Others found the photo distasteful. One person wondered if they had posted a photograph that was not intended. “display[s] a dead animal like some sort of prize is tasteful at all.”
Even though the post stirred up some controversy in the comment section, it’s nothing on what else the Duggar family is facing.
Eldest Son Josh Awaiting Trial
Josh Duggar, the oldest son of Duggar, was arrested earlier this year on child pornography charges. Duggar was indicted by an Arkansas federal grand jury. He is accused of having knowingly received images from children below the age of 12 in 2019. Duggar, if found guilty, could face 20 years in prison as well as fines up $250,000 on each count.
Duggar pled guilty to neither of the charges and, according attorneys, intends to continue to plead not guilty. “fight back in the courtroom.”
Michelle Duggar’s parents Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar never commented on the allegations directly, but only made an indirect reference to it in a family letter posted to their site. They shared their reflections on their lives in the spotlight. “some of the most difficult and painful moments our family has ever faced.”
Josh Duggar, currently awaiting trial and released into the care “third party custodians”who are family members. He cannot have any contact with minor children except his own, and then only in the presence of Duggar’s wife, Anna.
