According to a survey, the average person will spend 882 sleepless nights on the sofa in winter.

The cold and dark sees Brits curl up for six hours a day between now and March 26 — when the clocks go forward.

They will also spend 735 hours on TV and 441 on social media scrolling.

For Sports Direct, a poll of 2,000 adults found that 48% of respondents struggle to keep their winter exercise program on track.

It launched the campaign Beat The Quit, which encourages people to conquer the elements and get outside to exercise.
