And as fans wait with bated breath to see who emerges victorious on the programme, they’ve also been bombarding Amina with questions about the backstage process of being on the show.

The Morning Rush: The Truth Behind Getting Ready

The first was about how long they have to get sorted out in the morning, with Amina replying: “You only have 20 minutes to get ready.

“We do our hair the night before, we set our make-up out the night before, we iron our clothes the night before, and it is absolutely manic in the morning.

“Bear in mind there’s like 18 candidates in the house and the whole production team as well!”

But she added that “after a while” she got used to getting ready in 20 minutes, complete with “full glam and nice hair”.

When it comes to what time the contestants wake up, they are often shown to be up at 4am.
However, Amina said it was often a lot earlier than that.

“If you have a kitchen task, you wake up around 2am, if it’s any other task then it’s around 3am,” she replied.

“It is super, super early!”

The Marathon Days: What About Meals and Family Time?

“Wait so you don’t even have breakfast before a 15-hour work day??” someone asked in the comments section.

To which Amina replied with an emphatic: “NOPE.”

“I don’t think I could wake up at 2/3/4 am every day,” another sighed.

Someone else asked if you get to “go home” between the tasks, to which Amina said that you absolutely do not.

“The only time you go home is when you’re hired or when you’re fired – that’s it,” she insisted.

And as for contact with family, you only get “one 10-minute phone call” with family per WEEK – and even that is chaperoned.

“You don’t get to see your family and that’s the toughest part of the process,” Amina said.

“I left my 18-month-old baby girl behind and that was the hardest thing I’ve ever done in my life”.

The Downtime: How Do Contestants Entertain Themselves?

In terms of entertaining themselves between tasks, candidates aren’t allowed to use their phones, access the internet, watch TV or listen to the radio.

Even the swimming pool and jacuzzi in the house contestants stay in are off limits.

“We can use the sauna and the gym but that’s it,” she said.

“So what do you in your free time?” one person asked in the comments.

To which Amina replied: “Sleep – and wait for the next task to start the next day”.
