Texas Teen Charged with Shooting Woman at her Son’s Gravesite

A Texas teen was arrested as a suspect in the murder of a woman who was shot at her son’s gravesite, according to local reports.

According to a Killeen Police Department Press Release, Christian Lamar Weston, 17, was arrested on Saturday for the murder of Yolanda N’Gaojia, 52.

According to the release by police, they were called to an incident involving a shooting that occurred on March 22 at 5:05 p.m.

According to KPAX, a local outletWhen officers arrived at the gravesite they discovered N’Gaojia as well as another victim.

The woman’s son, Amir, was killed on January 1, and N’Gaojia was shot while visiting Amir’s grave on what would have been his 22nd birthday, per the outlet.

According to KXXV, a local outlet, the 52-year-old died later that evening from her injuries.

KPAX reported that the second victim, who has not been identified by KPAX was treated on the spot for non-life threatening injuries and released.

According to KPAX, Weston was being held without bond and being held on $5,000 bond for an additional charge of unlicensed carry of a weapon.

Investigations into the circumstances of the shooting are ongoing.
