Teen arrested in what is believed to be gaming’s BIGGEST ever hack

The City of London Police has arrested a 17-year-old suspect on suspicion of hacking and placed him in police custody.

According to some, the teen was responsible for the attack on Rockstar Games’ video game development studio, Rockstar Games last week.

A total of almost 100 videos were posted online by someone on Sunday, September 18, 20, 222.

They obtained the footage by hacking into the studio’s database, Rockstar confirmed.

On Monday, Rockstar issued a statement confirming the source of the leaks, saying that the incident will not delay the game’s development.

It read: “We recently suffered a network intrusion in which an unauthorised third party illegally accessed and downloaded confidential information from our system.

Rockstar was then joined by Uber, believing that the attack came from the same actor that hacked the company earlier this month.

Uber issued a statement to announce the partnership. It confirmed that the FBI (US Department of Justice) and Uber were now involved.

It reads: “There were reports over the weekend that this same actor breached video game maker Rockstar Games.

“We are in close coordination with the FBI and US Department of Justice on this matter, and will continue to support their efforts.”

The latest evidence suggests that the hacker was not in the US, but in England.

On Twitter, City of London Police announced that a 17-year old was being held under suspicion of hacking at 1pm today (September 23, 23).

The tweet reads: “On the evening of Thursday 22 September 2022, the City of London Police arrested a 17 year old in Oxfordshire on suspicion of hacking, as part of an investigation supported by the National Cyber Crime Unit (NCCU).

“He remains in police custody.”

Matthew Keys, a journalist, has reported since that he has been confirmed by a source “the crime is related to intrusion on Rockstar Games and possibly Uber Technologies.”

London Police have not made public any confirmations that the teen detained last night was connected to the GTA case.
