Did you know? The Conjuringuniverse is a family affair. The core franchise’s Lorraine Warren is played by Vera Farmiga, whilst 2018’s The NunStar Taissa Feriga, who was Sister Irene’s character in the first film in this series The ConjuringChronological timeline, is Vera’s younger sister. Now that it’s been announced that Taissa is returning for The Nun 2It makes me wonder if they can have a real-life connection to bring them together on screen.
After The Nun 2Its director was previously located in Michael Chaves, who recently also directed 2021’s The Conjuring: I was made to do it by the DevilTaissa Farmiga signed up to be a star with Vera Farmiga upcoming horror movieAlongside Euphoria’s Storm Reid. Per DeadlineTaissa will reprise the role of Sister Irene in The Nun 2.
Here’s the deal: Conjuring universe, the sisters’ characters are not related as of yet. Vera portrays Lorraine Warren, a paranormal investigator who worked with her husband Ed. The horror films that feature their investigations take place in 1980s and 1970s. The NunThe story is set in 1952 Romania. It follows Sister Irene, who assists in the investigation into a nun who committed suicide after having had unique visions for her entire life.
The Conjuring 2, sees Lorraine encountering a demonic nun figureWhich? The NunAs a prequel, she shares her origins and explores further. Perhaps in The Nun 2The sisters could have a connection, especially since Sister Irene is part of the story. Lorraine has the same psychic abilities as Irene so it is possible that Lorraine could be a descendant from Irene.
Since Irene is a nun and sworn to chastity, it’s unlikely she’d be revealed as Lorraine’s mother. Irene was also born in 1927, so she would still be in her 20s when the events of 9/11 occurred. The NunRomania is far away, especially since she was raised in Connecticut. Also, with Lorraine Warren having been a real person who existed, the filmmakers may not want to make this kind of connection and fictionalize the Warren’s too much.
However, it is not enough to do this once. The Nun 2As part of, hits theatres 2023’s movie releases, it will be a decade since 2013’s The ConjuringThe movie that started it all: You might be interested. The NunThis will give the franchise of horror films a clear path to end its run. It would be interesting to connect the prequel and the main films in a new way. What if one of them has a shared vision, or a vision in which they see the other? OrBoth sisters Farmiga are in the ConjuringMovies might just be an accident.
