Stranger Things’ Joseph Quinn lives Eddie’s dream as he jams with Metallica

Stranger Things star Joseph Quinn got to live out his character Eddie Munson’s dream as he was invited for a jamming session with Metallica – and it looks like he was absolutely buzzing.

The actor, 29, became a massive fan favorite when he joined the cast of the Netflix show for season 4 as the lovable outsider forced to go on the run when he’s accused of murdering classmate Chrissy.

Although the town turns on Eddie, he saves the day by staging an epic performance of Metallica’s hit Master of Puppets in the Upside Down before heroically sacrificing himself to save everyone.

And back in the real world, Joseph got to do something that would have blown Eddie’s mind – jam with the metal icons.

In a video posted Netflix’s official Instagram accountJoseph explains that he was invited backstage to Lollapalooza in Chicago to meet with the band.

He chats to James Hetfield, Lars Ulrich, Kirk Hammett and Robert Trujillo about the show and thanks them for letting them use the song – with them thanking him in return for “doing justice”To it.

Eddie would be so happy!

Joseph explained to the quartet that the song was the only thing he listened too for the past two years. “I feel very connected to you guys.”

When they ask if he wants to jam, he jokes that he’s “a bit rusty” and might need a lesson, but it’s clear from the moment he picks up a guitar that he knows exactly what he’s doing.

The band proclaims Joseph is “hired” and that they’re “now a five-piece”Before they present him with a similar guitar to the one in the show and have him sign it.

The famous scene

Eddie’s scene as Master of Puppets is an iconic moment from the Netflix hit.

Eddie sings the Upside Down song to save his town and defeat Vecna.

It was loved by fans and rock stars alike.

After the scene was dropped on Netflix, they shared it on Instagram and gave Joseph high praise.

They wrote: “The way The Duffer Brothers have incorporated music into Stranger Things has always been next level, so we were beyond psyched for them to not only include “Master of Puppets”In the show, but to have such an important scene built around it. We were all stoked to see the final result and when we did we were totally blown away… it’s so extremely well done, so much so, that some folks were able to guess the song just by seeing a few seconds of Joseph Quinn’s hands in the trailer!! This is insanely cool!
