Spy x Family may have slipped down to fifth place on the 2022 Fall anime rankings on MAL, but that doesn’t mean that the series has slowed its pace or lost its edge.
The CloverWorks x Wit Studio adaptation continues to prove why it is arguably the best newcomer anime of the year, with last week’s episode focusing on Anya’s investigation into Loid’s work at the General Hospital.

Spy x Family episode 21: Release date and time
Episode 21 (Part II ep 9) of the Spy x Family anime adaption is scheduled Premiere on Saturday 26th November
Crunchyroll will stream the new episode around the globe at these international times via its anime streaming platform. Placard:

Spy x Family will also release new episodes with English dubbing on Friday, February 5, at 2:30 PM PT/5.30 ET/10.30 GMT.
Spy x Family ep 21: What should you expect
Spy x Family 21 episode is scheduled to be a second split story, titled “Nightfall” “First Fit of Jealousy”The preview trailer will air after the ED. Episode 20.
In the preview, you can see the Forgers taking a family picture before Fiona (the WISE agent) takes a walk down the corridor of the General Hospital.
Next, we see Anya sleeping with Mr Penguin. Another scene is Fiona enjoying tea before Yor. Anya snuggles Bond as Loid looks at it with a serious look.
Yor looks concerned at Loid from a window. Finally, Anya is presented with another classic. ‘GAWK’-shocked expression.
A preview caption will be shared by the Japanese official website for episode 21, a few hours prior to domestic broadcast. This article will then be updated once those captions are published.
A quick recap of last week’s episode
Spy x Family Episode 20 opened with Anya’s class being told that they have to interview their parents and visit their place of work.
At home, both Yor and Anya imagine the two of them completing dangerous assassinations; Yor understandably agrees that Loid’s workplace may be a better choice since ‘City Hall’ It is boring.
Two days later, Anya visits the hospital’s psychiatric ward with Loid, dressed in full detective gear. Loid’s popularity amongst the supposed hospital staff is evident, so Anya visits him in his office. Fiona, another WISE operative interrupts their conversation with a message.
She uncovers Loid’s hidden passageway the moment that he leaves and heads into the hospital vents to explore. Anya stumbles upon a board meeting and is almost caught, but she manages to fool the board members by convincing them that there’s a ghost up there.
The second part of the episode opens with Anya wanting to create a secret coded message so that she can test Loid’s skills. She delivers the code to her neighbors, Becky, and to Franky – who mistakes the code for a secretive love letter from another WISE operative.
Poor Franky has his heart crushed once again as he breaks the code, prepares to meet the girl of his dreams, and picks up flowers…only for Anya to sleep through the supposed meeting.
