Sony to Release PG-13 Version Of ‘Father Stu’

Sony will bring a PG-13 version to “Father Stu”Titled “Father Stu: Reborn” back to life – and theaters – on Dec. 9.

The Columbia Pictures and Mark Wahlberg’s religious drama was originally Rated R by the MPAAFor “language throughout.”According to a spokesperson at Sony “Reborn”PG-13 rating based primarily on the toned-down language and an accident scene, as well as sexual references, violence, and smoking.

Recuts will not contain any additional material or reshots.

Based on a true story “Father Stu”The story centers on amateur boxer Stuart Long (Wahlberg), who moves to Los Angeles after sustaining an injury that ends his promising career. Stu is captivated by the idea of becoming a Catholic priest after he starts attending church.

Rosalind Ross wrote and directed the film. Mel Gibson, Jacki, and Teresa Ruiz also star in it. Jordon Folss, Stephen Levinson and Wahlberg produced. Ross, Miky Le, Colleen Camp and Patrick Peach served as executive producers.

“Father Stu”It premiered in April 2022 with a opening of $5.4 million and went on to gross $21.6million worldwide. Since September, it has been streaming on Netflix.
