Salt Bae, who’s real name is Nusret Gökçe, apparently grew up in a financially unstable home before opening his first restaurant in Turkey in 2010.
His father Faik was a mineworker and he was born in Erzurum.
However, his sixth grade experience forced him to quit school to become a butcher’s apprentice in Istanbul. This was due to financial difficulties in the family.
Due to the success of his restaurant chain, it’s now estimated he has a net worth of £44million pounds as of 2021.
He served clients such as Vice-President of the UAE Prime Minister and Ruler Dubai; Leonardo Di Caprio and Lionel Messi.
