Just a few minutes before she made the announcement about her split with Jason Momoa Lisa Bonet was seen in Interviewmagazine alongside her lifelong friend, Marisa Tomei. They met on the set “A Different World,” the “Cosby Show” spinoff where Tomei playedThe college roommate of Bonet’s Denise Huxtable. They talked about their long careers together during the conversation; Tomei called it “The Conversation”. “the jackpot of many lifetimes” that they were still laughing together after all this time.
As the actors exchanged information about Bonet’s call, the conversation turned metaphysical. “this epic transition” — meaning, presumably, the global uncertainty surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic. Tomei explained to her friend that she was spending more time in nature and relaying. “I’ve found so much solace and joy in the trees,” and then it was Bonet’s turn.
“Definitely learning how to be authentically me, learning to be new, and following this invitation from the universe to step into this river of uncertainty,” Bonet said. While the quote seemed vague when Momoa and Bonet split up, it became more logical once we had a better understanding of Bonet’s personal life. It also echo the Instagram announcement by the couple about the end to their marriage. “We have all felt the squeeze and changes of these transformational times … A revolution is unfolding and our family is of no exception,” they wrote in the since-deleted statement (via Vanity Fair).
