Holly Willoughby’s Ice Challenge Show Canned Due to Boredom, Claims Co-Host Lee Mack
The much-hyped Holly Willoughby’s ice challenge show called Freeze The Fear was shockingly canned after one series due to what co-host Lee Mack describes as it being truly underwhelming.
The Boring Ice Challenge Bores the Audience
The English comedian Lee Mack, 55, disclosed his opinion about the failure of the ice challenge program, as he mentioned, “Celebs in cold water did not make as exciting television as they thought.”
Celebrities Falling Flat in Cold Water
Participating celebrities such as Gabby Logan and footballer Patrice Evra succumbed to sub-zero tasks under health enthusiast Wim Hof’s guidance, but the program did not generate the anticipated excitement.
Unexpected Response to Cynical Comedy
Mack, however, expressed his interest in the show despite its lackluster performance, saying, “I liked it. I was booked to be the cynical comic.”
Diminished Filling-In Experience
Lee Mack went on to recount his stint as a fill-in for Bob Mortimer on the BBC program Mortimer & Whitehouse: Gone Fishing, where he received considerable backlash by fans. He added, “There are three things people love about that show. They love Bob, Paul, and fishing. They did not get Bob and they did not get fishing as I am a vegan, so I got an absolute kicking for that.”
The comedian also revealed on Richard Herring’s podcast, “I am starting to think people don’t like me… vicious people.”
This incident highlights the unpredictability and fickleness of television audiences and the entertainment industry in general.
