Sheringham was also a Nottingham Forest team-mate with Keane earlier in their careers.

Both players have big personalities. Keane wasn’t the only player Sheringham had a falling out with while he was at Man Utd.

Sheringham is also well-known for his dispute with Andy Cole, the strike partner.

After a scuffle with Sir Alex Ferguson, Keane’s time at United was over.

Sheringham now has the lid lifted on the row he had with Keane, which resulted in the pair not speaking for more than THREE YEARS.

According to theTimesSheringham, in a book titled ‘1999, Manchester United, The Treble, and All That’ that will be published next week, recalls a row that occurred on a bus trip after a night out with teammates in 1998.

Sheringham wrote: “All of a sudden, Keany said, ‘Why don’t you f*** off back to London in your f***ing red Ferrari and your penthouse?’

“I went ‘Eh?”; And he says, ‘Yeah, f*** off back to London’.

“I’m like Keany: ‘Are they coming for me, Keany?” Paddy, why would you come for me? F***ing what?’

“And he went ‘f*** off’, and he goes on ‘f***ing red Ferrari, penthouse…’.

“Then, he leapt around, still with his bad knee, grabbed me by the tie and pulled me towards him. He was grappling with me.

“Suddenly everyone’s going ‘what’s going on?’ and pulling us apart.”

Sheringham said that Keane chose to have it out the next training day, rather than having it out.

The former England striker continued: “I couldn’t sleep that night thinking, ‘It’s going to go off as soon as I get into training’.

“I have seen Roy at the gym so I know that it can work. I enter thinking “Get ready”. I go in to change my thinking and say, “I’m ready for him.”

“You have your own cubicle, so I was either next or after Keany. As I walked in, he was already putting his shoes on.

“I walked by him, and I think he’s going be able to get up and kick me in my face. I thought, “Here we are”.

“Keany stands up and walks out.

“He didn’t say a word to me. He didn’t say a word to me for the next three-and-a-half years.”

Despite their feud, they went on to have successful Man Utd careers.

They won the triple in 1999, and they also took home two Premier League titles. Sheringham joined Tottenham in 2002.
