Severance has had a long wait since the first season was released. However, it has now been confirmed that a second series will be produced.
However, while we know that the show is coming back, season 2 has been delayed by the WRA Writers’ and SAG-AFTRA strikes.

Apple TV+: Severance Season 2
Severance fans eagerly await the second season.
However, sadly, the production of the second season has been impacted by the WRA Writers’ and SAG-AFTRA strikes. The production ceased in May of 2023.
In 2022 the psychological sci fi thriller became a big hit. The show received 14 Emmy nominations while also being renewed for season 2 early.
For those who have yet to watch, Severance tells the story of employees at Lumon Industries, whose home-life memories are “severed” from their work memories.
Season 2 will continue the cliffhanger from season 1’s finale.
Apple did not comment when Season 2 would premiere.
Ben Stiller, the director and executive producers of the series, said that when the streamer renewed it on April 6, 20,23. Variety:
It’s really exciting to see the response from people who are loving the show – and the level of fan engagement. It has been a long road bringing ‘Severance’ to television. I first read Dan’s pilot over five years ago. It has always been a multi-season story and I’m really happy we get to continue it. I’m grateful to our partners at Apple TV+ who have been behind it the whole way. Praise Kier!
What the strike affects season 2.
The second season of Severance began filming on October 31st, 2022. At the time, Apple shared a photo of the lead star Adam Scott, who retweeted the message, writing, “Can’t wait for everyone to see what we’re doing in S2…”

However, filming ceased when the WGA Writers’ Strike started in May 2023. To make matters worse, two months later the SAG-AFTRA actors’ strike started impacting TV and movie production. Production will return to normal once the strikes have ended.
Cast of Severance Season 2
Season 2 will see the return of many main characters, including Adam Scott as Mark Scout. Britt Lower is back as Helly, John Turturro plays Irving Bailiff, and Zach Cherry returns as Dylan George. Patricia Arquette is back as Harmony Cobel. Christopher Walken returns as Burt Goodman. Trammell tillman plays Seth Milchick. Jen Tullock portrays Devon Scout-Hale. Michael Chernus takes on the role of Ricken Hale.
In addition, TV GuideApple revealed new cast members for Season 2 to be released in October 2022.
This includes Merritt Wever, Gwendoline Christie, Bob Balaban, Alia Shawkat, Robby Benson, John Noble, Stefano Carannante and Ólafur Darri Ólafsson.
