Ryan Reynolds shares a special birthday message for Will Ferrell. Step Brothers fans will love it

Will Ferrell was the beloved celebrity who celebrated his birthday this weekend. On Saturday, the comedy legend turned 55. Fans across social media sent a variety of humorous and warm tributes to him. Some of his celebrity friends, including his mother, also posted messages to his behalf. Spirited co-star, Ryan Reynolds. Reynolds, always witty, had a special message. Step BrothersFans will love it.

Ryan Reynolds shared Ryan Reynolds’ birthday tribute via a TikTokvideo that features the music “Por Ti Volaré.” Step Brothers fans are sure to know that Andrea Bocelli’s classic tune played a pivotal role in the 2008 comedy. Ryan Reynolds seems to be going to sing the song. He doesn’t even say a word as he is unsure when to jump in. You can see the A+ bday greeting below.

Let it go Deadpoolstar to find the right way to honor his friend and costar. To be honest, I would’ve loved to have heard the star give his own interpretation of the Italian song. But then again, we’d be missing out on the sheer awkwardness that’s present in the clip as is. And let’s be honest, aside from Andrea Bocelli himself, can anyone really top the Saturday Night Live veteran’s rendition from Adam McKay’s film?

In Step Brothers, Will Ferrell’s Brennan performs a Spanish-translated version “Por Ti Volaré”The film’s final scene features an event. After the leader of the hired cover band loses his temper, the character is encouraged by the director to perform this feat. Accompanied by John C. Reilly’s Dale on drums, Brennan absolutely nails the song, so much so that his antagonistic brother, Derek (Adam Scott), is moved and reconciles with him. Seeing as the track is so important in the fan-favorite movie, I’d say it’s perfect for use in a birthday wish.

Ryan Reynolds’s history with birthday messages to celebrities is interesting. They can be very different in tone. Reynolds was more sentimental than usual when he was younger. Mark Ruffalo and others wished Chris Hemsworth Happy BirthdayLast year. He was also absolutely Hugh Jackman, a frenemy, was dunked in his b’day slurry last fall. Then again, I guess we should’ve expected as much from the latter, given the playful nature of Jackman and Reynolds’ relationship.

This most recent message has me curious as to what Ryan Reynolds’ on and off-screen dynamic with Will Ferrell will be like when they star alongside each other and do press for Spirited. The movie will be streamed with an Apple TV+ subscriptionThis is a new way to look at Christmas Carol. After Reynolds was done (ahead his exit from acting). He shared a first look at his and Ferrell’s holiday flick. The film features two comedy stars who are sure to bring some good laughs.

While I wait for the movie to drop later this year, I’m honestly going to watch this hilarious birthday video a few more times, before inevitably just throwing Step Brothers on. You can stream it using a Hulu subscription.
